Description

Photograph of twelve glass phials used for medicine. According to one of the inventory cards, some of the phials were excavated in London in the sixteenth century. The photograph of the phials is included in the publication Catalogue of an Exhibition illustrating The History of Pharmacy, an exhibition held at the Wellcome Research Institution, London, 4 May - 28 September 1951. They were previously part of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum but is no longer held by Wellcome Collection.
