A New Medicinal Preparation for the Curative Treatment of Leprosy, Cancer, Eczema, and other Allied Diseases. I, William Watson, of the Firm of William Watson & Co., of 27 Leadenhall Street, in the City of London, Bankers and East India Agents do hereby declare the nature of this invention which has been communicated to me by Mrs. Esther E. Algar, of Sialkot, Punjab, in the Empire of India to be as follows :— 5 The medicine is made from a herb which grows in India and is known in the Punjab by the name of “ Papperah.” The botanical name of the herb being “ Farnaria-parinflora.” The herb may be collected at all stages during its growth and thoroughly dried, either in the sun or in sheds adapted for the purpose so as to preserve it from 10 rotting, or the herb can be used in its green state. The herb may be converted into medicine for the diseases of leprosy, cancer, eczema and other allied atfections in the following manner. (a) One pound avoirdupois of the dried herb is placed in a cauldron containing one gallon of cold water and the whole is allowed to boil for a period of 15 12 consecutive hours, or (h) Two pounds avoirdupois of the green herb is placed in a cauldron containing one gallon of cold water and is allowed to boil for twelve consecutive hours. The decoction so made is decanted and allowed to cool after which it may 20 he administered in doses varying according to the age and condition of the patient. The proportions before mentioned are those which are believed to be most advantageous but my invention is not restricted to these or other proportions. This medicine is believed to be efficacious, or advantageous, in all stages of the 25 diseases before named. Dated the 27th day of April 1893. NEWNHAM BROWNE, Agent for the Applicant. I, William Watson, of the Firm of William Watson & Co., of 27, Leadenhall Street, in the City of London, Bankers and East India Agents, do hereby declare the nature of this invention and in what manner the same is to be performed 35 which has been communicated to me bv Mrs. Esther E. Algar of Sialkot Punjab in the Empire of India to be particularly described and ascertained in and by the following statement :— This invention consists in the discovery of the following new medicinal preparation as a curative agent efficacious and advantageous in all stages of 40 leprosy cancer eczema and other allied diseases.
