About this work

Description

A painting classified by Rita Simon as Linear Transition style made by a tuberculosis patient. It depicts a forest with tree trunks, brightly coloured flowers and foliage. Rita Simon has written the following note on the verso: "Long-term patient has been working with me for 18 months, uses art to express nighmare fears and dreams of an ideal (tropical) life, erratic painter." On the verso there is the beginnings of another artwork showing houses and water but this is unfinished and has been scribbled over with paint.

The title has been supplied by the cataloguer for identification purposes.

The date has been estimated by the cataloguer to fit in with the timescale that Rita Simon worked with other tuberculosis patients.
