    I Report of the General Board of Control for Scotland for the year 1961 To the Right Honourable JOHN S. MACLAY, C.M.G., M.P., Secretary of State for Scotland Sir, We, the General Board of Control for Scotland, have the honour to present our report for the year 1961. This will be the last report by the Board as they will fall to be dissolved on 1st June, 1962, when the Mental Health (Scotland) Act, 1960, comes into full operation. The various matters with which the Board have been concerned were covered in some detail in the reports for the preceding two years; the present report is confined mainly to statistical information. Annual Statistics Mental Patients At the end of 1961 the total number of persons who were under care for mental illness was 20,047 or 254 fewer than at the end of 1960.
