Frank Rowntree, Sheffield's Health Education Officer, discusses diet and weight. He states that the problem often begins in childhood and that the only solution is to control calorie intake and energy output sensibly over a period of time rather than crash-dieting. Interestingly, he thinks that if one needs to lose more than 3lbs this should be done under medical supervision.
