Acquisition note

Accession no 1487 was given to the library at Wellcome Collection in January 2007 by his son, Kevin Rowntree; Accession 1676 was transferred from Sheffield City Archives in July 2009

Biographical note

Frank Rowntree was the Health Education Officer for Sheffield, c. 1950s-1970s. He was one of the founders of the Institute of Health Education, now the Institute of Health Education and Promotion. He was awarded the OBE in 1986 for his services to health education.
