TO THE chairman AND MEBIBERS OF THE BO'.YLA ND R'lRAL DISTRICT COUNCIL GENTLEMEN; I have the honour to submit to you my Eleventh Annual Report As it is several years since a detailed report was issued, it seemed desirable to make this more of a survey report, bringing under closer review the sanitary circumstances and health provisions for our area. This acts as a stock-taking of the present position and the report may possibly be of interest to the individual Councillor for reference as a record of the health provisions for the area. Features of the present report are the shortage of population, the exceptionally high birth rate, the low figure for serious infectious diseases and the splendid response of the inhabitants to the campaign for Diphtheria immunisation 88% of the children having been immunised. ^ On the whole the year has been a healthy one in spite of food conditions and the strain of war. The sickness and death rates are about normal - As in England and ’Vales generally there has been some increase in the amount of Tuberculosis.
