Biographical note

Project description:The project will use the return of Lindow Man to the Manchester Museum in April 2008 as the focal  point for a year-long exploration into public attitudes towards the ethical treatment of human remains  by museums, archaeologists and scientists. Through the staging of a major exhibition and full  programme of accompanying public events, the project will explore ways of reconciling the potentially  competing demands of furthering scientific knowledge, with calls for greater sensitivity and respect  for the dead. The results will be shared with museums and the wider community across the country.
