About this work

Description

1 artwork identified by the cataloguer under the pseudonym "Tuberculosis Patient 19" which shows a woman seen in side profile throwing a red ball for a black dog with a red collar. The artwork is reproduced in Rita Simon's book, Symbolic images in art as therapy, Figure 4.2, p. 57. On p. 56 Simon describes the artwork as "an Archaic Massive watercolour symbolizing a typically hyperactive response to enforced bedrest."

The title of the artwork is taken from Symbolic images in art as therapy. On the verso of the artwork, Rita Simon titled the painting 'Movement.'

The date of restricted access has been estimated as the same as that used for other tuberculosis patients in the same series.

Rita Simon classified this artwork as Archaic Massive.
