Papers relating to the meeting of the ILA Council at the Congress and the nomination and election of new officers and councillors. This file covers the controversy over the re-election of Lechat as President and the final minutes of the meeting (which differed significantly from Browne’s report) published in the ILA Journal which Browne refused to sign as an incomplete report and due to disagreements over the election procedures, also Browne’s resignation as ILA Secretary in 1984.
