Cooper McDougall & Robertson (East Africa) Ltd

The series mainly contains minute books, which contain the minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors, the minutes of Annual General Meetings, and a small number of papers, reference minutes and directors reports written either for meetings or as a result of them.

Matters discussed at the meetings included the appointment of directors and staff, market conditions and the performance of the company, specific products - and their success or failure, as well as general administrative points. There is no information of an especially sensitive nature, although mention is made of staff salary levels and remuneration received by directors. The relationship between the company and other parts of the Coopers group are also discussed.

Board meetings occurred monthly on average, though there were breaks during holiday periods where no meetings were held.

All the volumes in this series are indexed at the front. The minutes are unsigned copies. Some minutes are stamped, suggesting that they have been centrally collated.

There are a few sundry items from the records of the company, which have also been placed in this series.
