A Tree With a Tomb (artwork)

A painting in Rita Simon's Traditional Massive style, depicting a tree with a tomb, and a mauve sky. Painted by a patient with the pseudonym "Dorothy". Rita Simon stated that this was, "a late work painted after discharge, painted as a private patient. She maintained herself after I went to America, then she collapsed again and was re-admitted. In the painting there is a lot of space, but it breaks down in the immediate foreground".

The title has been taken from notes made during conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.

The date has been taken from other works in the section.
