Description

Prescription book, containing prescriptions numbered 3366-4971 and, in a new series begun from the rear of the volume, 1-571. Months of the year are not named, but numbered according to Quaker practice. Included are numerous prescriptions written by Charles Clay, Sir James Lomax Bardsley, and other Manchester practitioners. Also included are prescriptions of a veterinary nature. Interspersed with the prescriptions are recipes, including recipes for cholera, 1848-66. Signature of James Brocklehurst on the front paste-down.
