The International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration is a collaboration between the DNA Data Bank of Japan, European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and GenBank that has existed for over 20 years. Ashburner was a European representative for the International Advisory Committee from 1991-1994 and was Chairman from 1992-1994.
