Description

Photograph of apparatus for an 1862 chloroform inhaler designed by Joseph Clover, one of the first attempts at controlling vapour strength through a bellows system, in a leather case. The inhaler was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 28th April 1936 (R1954/1936) but is not held by Wellcome Collection. Related images: M0006027
