Description
12 artworks on the recto and verso of 6 sheets made by a patient identified by Rita Simon's pseudonym "Tuberculosis Patient 15." Some of the descriptions of the artworks are taken from notes written by Wellcome staff during conversations with Rita Simon between 1995 and 1997.
The artworks are all professionally executed cartoons and caricatures which present a humorous depiction of aspects of life in a tuberculosis sanitorium in the 1940s.

Biographical note
A tuberculous young man, in his 30s, a patient at a Swiss sanatorium. He was isolated in a single room but used the intercom system to communicate with other people in order to prevent loneliness.
