    ON THE CURE OF STRABISMUS. By THOMAS ELLIOT, M. R. C, S. L., Carlisle. (From the Edinburgh Med. and Surg. Journal, No. \A7.) It is now upwards of live months since I forwarded to the editor of the Lancet* an account of three cases, where the di¬ vision of the internal rectus of the inverted eye failed in re¬ moving its squint. In these cases, the inversion was slightly diminished, but still confined to the eye that had been operated upon, while the patient was directed to look at an object placed before him, both eyes being uncovered. But, in the same paper, I stated that I drew the following inferences from the cases above alluded to :— 1st, “ That the strabismus could not be regarded as confined to one eye, since, when the sound eye was closed, the affected * Vide Lancet of September 19, 1840.
