Project Summary:‘D&G On Tour!’ aims to embrace the opportunity to disseminate the content, learning opportunities and achievements provided by the Wellcome Trust Small Arts Award funded project ‘Design and Gerontology’. This project focused on the bio-markers of ageing, act as a starting point for young people to design an exciting clothing collection. Working with science professors with expertise in ageing and with fashion designers, the young people studied ageing and translated their learning into the creation of a collection of outfits which demonstrated their new understanding of the ageing process. The aim of ‘D&G On Tour!’ is to reach new audiences by creating simple, portable and engaging exhibition opportunities in schools, hospitals and museums. Supporting workshops will also be provided and engaging, informative learning and teaching resources will be developed and distributed.
