Biographical note

The Women's National Commission was an independent advisory body which provided communication between women's organisations and Government, liaising directly with the Minister for Women through the Women's Unit. The organisation was made up of 50 member organisations, including the NCT. Each member organisation had a representative on the Commission, appointed by and answerable to, their own organisations, not the Government.
