These papers are arranged in bundles for each patient and ordered chronologically by patients' admission numbers Each file normally contains the following documents: statements and certificates of medical practitioners; reception orders and notices of admission to Ticehurst Hospital; monthly reports and notices of subsequent personal interviews, transfers, escapes, discharges and deaths These formal records are occasionally supported by personal letters.
