Biographical note
Mourant applied to the Wolfson Foundation for support for his work on blood groups of the Jews and associations between blood groups and other polymorphisms and disease. He made the application at the recommendation of Lord Zuckerman, making a personal approach to Sir Israel Brodie prior to submitting an application. In October 1972 he was awarded £ 7,313 for one from Jan 1973.
