Contains also some notes and cuttings regarding the origin, structure and nature of non-nucleated red blood cells (erythrocytes) and the fate of the nuclei of human erythroblasts and the origin of blood platelets. Contains also notes and cuttings on various abnormalities and pathological conditions of the spleen, such as cases of spontaneous rupture of the spleen and spontaneous peritoneal haemorrhage from the spleen; spontaneous abscesses of the spleen; congenital absence of the spleen, and congenital or acquired spleen hypoplasia. Floating spleens and floating livers etc for comparison. Spontaneous separation of spleen and other organs; uterine fibromyomata, appendices epiploicae, tags of omentum etc so as to form loose bodies in the peritoneal cavity (and aseptic 'foreign bodies') covered with concentric layers of firm fibrin (for comparison).
