This committee was established in Jan 1947 to prepare evidence on behalf of consultants and specialists for submission to the Inter-departmental Committee (Spens). It combined the membership of Consultant Services Sub-Committee [of Royal Colleges, see C.1] and Hospital and Specialist Sub-Committee of the Negotiating Committee [organised by BMA]. The Chairman of the Committee was Sir Alfred Webb-Johnson, President of the Royal College of Surgeons.
