Wells' presence in America (no. 13), relations with the Bolshevik régime in Russia (no. 16), Edith Lyttleton, widow of the politician Alfred Lyttleton (1857-1913) (no. 18), and a Miss Magdalen Ponsonby who grew up in Queen Victoria's household and "might ... out-Strachey Lytton Strachey if she would let herself go" (no. 20).
