The author, a celebrated lecturer and physician of his day, graduated M.D. at Montpellier in 1703, and was appointed professor of medicine at this university in 1720.

At Wellcome Collection: MSS.2371-2372, part of the Library's holdings on Gerald Fitzgerald, and MS.3198, part of the Library's holdings relating to Jean Astruc, both also include Lazerme material.
