About this work

Description

These files contain the minutes of the International Union of Immunological Societies Council, Committees and the General Assembly together with reports, papers and correspondence, most of which relate to the business of the IUIS. The IUIS was established in 1969 to encourage advances in immunology and co-ordinate international co-operation between immunological societies. The BSI was one of its founding members and is the national adhering body to the IUIS. A number of BSI members have served on its Council and Committees, and the Society is entitled to send delegates to General Assemblies. The series also contains a file (M.1/10) on the European Federation of Immunological Societies (known initially as the IUIS European Federation), an organisation within the IUIS which is entitled to hold European meetings. The BSI is a member and is entitled to send delegates to its General Assemblies. This series appears to have been created by the BSI International Secretaries, Prof DMV Parrott (1973-1979) and Dr
