Four original studio portrait photographs:

01-02. As trooper in 42nd (Herts) Company, Imperial Yeomanry, dated to 24 January 1900 (datable from letters held at Hertfordshire Archives). Photograph by F. Downer & Sons, Watford .

03-04. As Surgeon Captain, South African Constabulary, taken on or soon after 2 June 1902, when presented by Edward VII with the Victoria Cross (see A.Clayton, Martin-Leake Double VC). Photograph by Bassano.

05-07. As Captain, RAMC; wearing cap. Dated to 26 July 1915 (datable from associated photograph held at NPG, Heinz Archive & Library), two days after being presented by George V with the Bar to his Victoria Cross. Photograph by Bassano.
