Description
"The History and Archives Committee was initially established in 1989 prompted by the movement of The Society's archives from Churchill College, Cambridge to the Wellcome Institute." [Physiology News 64 (Autumn 2006), p.35].
As with other Society sub-committees, the name, function and format of this group are not static. The committee has had various names including "Historical Studies and Archives Sub-Committee," "Advisory Sub-Committee for Historical Studies and Archives," and "History and Archives Committee."
