Biographical note

Reverend Arthur Davies met Hugh Trowell through Church Missionary Society group meetings. Trowell called Arthur Davies 'Dives', a reference to the New Testament story of the rich man, Dives, and the poor man, Lazarus. It was an ironic nick-name as Davies was a poor man.
