Correspondence and papers relating to patient complaint procedures in the NHS, mainly proposed changes to the Family Practitioner Services complaints procedure to improve information to patients, make it more comprehensible, and strengthen the machinery for handling complaints, including comments on the DHSS draft leaflet 'Complaints against family doctors, dentists, chemists and opticians', and papers re the eventual DHSS consultation paper reviewing Family Practitioner Services complaints investigation procedures in England and Wales, Aug 1986. Also covered in the file are hospital complaints procedures, the informal handling of complaints, individual cases and requests for help and advice, ACHCEW patients charter re complaints.
