Description

Letters concerning John Robert Morrison's participation, as interpreter, in the American 'Peacock expedition'. Nov-Dec 1832.

The expedition, to Siam and Cochin China, led by Edmund Roberts (1784-1836), merchant and United States diplomat, was intended as a secret mission to investigate the British East India Company, and to negotiate trade treaties.
