    The Manchester and Salford Medical Charities Fund continues its valuable support. The total amount of £983 10s. lOd. received during the year under review was made up as follows : £ s. d. Annual Subscriptions. 167 1 6 Mayor of Sale’s Medical Charities Fund . . . . 25 0 0 Service Accounts.151 2 6 Annual Distribution . 72 13 8 Alexandra Day Fund. 405 7 5 Hospital Flag Days . 162 5 9 The Board gratefully acknowledges the receipt of a Legacy of X19 18s. 2d. from the Exors. of Miss Susan Nabb. The recommendations of the Rushcliffe Committee in regard to Nursing salaries and conditions of service were adopted by the Board as from 1st April last. The following members of the Hospital Staff are still serving with His Majesty’s Forces : Medical Staff—Dr. S. R. A. Beckett, M.B., Ch.B. X-Ray Staff— Mr. R. G. Rankin. Clerical Staff— Mr. E. I. Schofield. The Board earnestly wishes them a speedy return. Messrs. Halliday, Pearson & Co., Chartered Accountants, continue to act as Honorary Auditors, and their generous services are much appreciated by the Board. Thanks are again tendered to the Opera House and the Palace Theatre for complimentary tickets of admission to the Nursing Staff. Gifts in money, in kind and in service, have been deeply appreciated. To all helpers, in whatever manner the help has been given, the Board records their sincere gratitude. Once again it is the pleasure of the Board to extend to the members of the Honorary Medical Staff their thanks and grateful appreciation of their ready acceptance of the increased work during the year. The Board records their appreciation of the valuable and loyaL services rendered to the Hospital by the other members of the Medical Staff, the General Superintendent and Secretary, the Matron and members of the Administrative, Nursing and General Staffs. The Board hopes that increased support, so urgently needed, will be forthcoming despite the many claims made upon the public in these difficult days.
