Biographical note
The Workshop on Obstetric and Maternity Care was organised by FIGO, ICM and IAMANEH. It preceded both the FIGO World Congress (15-20 September) and the IAMANEH International Congress (9-10 September). The IAMANEH 4th International Congress, held in Bandung, Indonesia, was to held on Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in November 1990. However, in May 1990 the Advisory Committee of IAMANEH took the decision to postpone the conference because of political events in Haiti in early 1990, and finally transferred the conference to Bandung to be held preceding the FIGO Congress in Singapore.
