About this work

Description

Typescript, with manuscript corrections and amendments, of 'Along the Way'. Pages numbered consecutively, pp.1-361. Also includes a manuscript section at the beginning and copies of the preface. The preface begins: 'The events recorded in this book are true, partly true, fictional, an admixture of defensiveness, boastfulness, artifice, pride and shame. It has no plot, no aim and no moral, and should such be construed, no humility. Any merit or worthiness, literary or psychological may be reckoned by others. There are aspirations to neither...' (Carbon copy of original typescript?)

It is unclear when this version was written but it is probably the 1970s or 1980s from the typeset.
