087012/Z/08/Z: The Tide Tables

Project Summary:The Tide Tables is a new work for performance exploring the midlife climateric phase ('change of life') from a combined biomedical and narrative perspective. Within a story structure framed around a lone individual holidaying on the shore, the work will combine sung (choral and solo) and spoken text based on the physiology of menopause and the history and nature of HRT, including speculative possibilities such as prolonged menopause delay, The project will also include a talk/discussion on the themes of the performance jointly lead by Saffron Whitehead and Christine Watkins, and linked workshop events.
