Biographical note

An elderly man with extrovert personality, volatile. When he got upset he was inclined to be an exhibitionist and walked around without pyjamas. He had lived in a shack, almost as a tramp. He was a nuisance in the ward. "Working with geriatrics is always working against the tide. But this gives them a chance to pull back. But there is no "cure". Art therapy for them is a palliative." (Rita Simon).

This information is taken from conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.
