Biographical note
Population Genetics Technologies was established in 2005. Initial funding for the company was provided by Compass Genetics (US) (a partnership of the PGT co-founders Sydney Brenner, Sam Eletr and Philip Goelet) and the Wellcome Trust . The company has developed revolutionary technologies for high sensitivity and high specificity next generation sequencing (NGS) detection of genetic variants. It operates from two sites, a headquarters at the Babraham Research Campus in the UK and a product development and commercialization site in the US.
