Biographical note

The School of Physiotherapy at University College Dublin started in 1955 and was located at the Mater Misericordiae hospital. The School achieved CSP recognition in 1962. Prior to the founding of the School at UCD there existed an independent School of Physiotherapy, which was taken over by the Federated Dublin Voluntary Hospitals in 1968 and moved to St James' Hospital in 1973, with traditional links with Trinity College Dublin.
