    TO 1'IIE MANAGERS OF THE % l) c x b e c n 11 o % a I | n f i x m a x g. I Gentlemen, As it may be difficult for non-professional parties I to understand the real point at issue between Drs. Harvey and Smith, and myself, and believing that some misapprehension I prevails as to the license I claim in the exercise of my profes¬ sion as one of your Physicians, I deem it right to place before I you, in a few words, the precise position I claim to occupy. 1. As a duly qualified Physician, I consider that I am at I (liberty and entitled to exercise my free and independent judg- | ment in prescribing to patients such medicines, and in such * I [quantities as, from practical experience, I believe to be most H likelv to give relief to the sufferers. 2. I have found, after much study of the subject, and H practical test in numerous cases, that certain medicines known I to the profession as Homoeopathic, are much more speedy and I effective, where applicable, than the ordinary officinal prepa- I rations in the usual doses 3. I have, therefore, to a greater or less extent, both in my | private practice and in the Hospital, availed myself of those | medicines in cases where they seemed to me to be suitable, and I with the most satisfactory results.
