    URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL OF BONSALL. Matlock Bath, rth February, 1895. To the Chairman and Members of the Urban District Council of Bonsall. Gentlemen. I have again the honour of submitting to you my Annual Report, relating to the Sanitary Condition of the Bonsall Urban Sanitary District, for the year ending December 31st, 1894. The number of Births during the year was 39 (18 boys, 21 girls), as compared with 47 in the previous year. The number of deaths registered in the past year was 15, as compared with 26 in the previous year. The death rate for 1894, taking the population at 1,329, has therefore been the remarkably low one of n.25 Per ijooo- These figures alone bear eloquent witness to the satisfactory condition of Bonsall. Comparing them with those of previous years, when the death rate has averaged about 20 per thousand, the newly elected Urban Council may congratulate themselves on the health of the district Of the 15 deaths, 13 were certified by Medical Practitioners, 1 by Coroner’s Jury, 1 was uncertified. Of the 15 deaths, n were adults, 4 children. I am struck by the remarkably high average age of the 11 adults, namely, 67J years. BIRTHS. DEATHS. 18 Males. 8 Males. 21 Females. 7 Females. 39 Total. Apoplexy. Cancer. Bronchitis. Phthisis. Emphysema of Lungs. Pneumonia. Premature Birth. Convulsions (not Certified). Heart Disease (Coroner’s Inquest). 15 Total. I have not a single case of Zymotic Disease to report during the twelve months. I am sure that the Council will share in my pleasure and gratification at this. As regards nuisances, I have had but one complaint to deal with during the year, and yet that one
