THE REPORT OF THE * COMMITTEE OF VISITORS OF THE PARKSIDE LUNATIC ASYLUM, For the Year ending 31st March, 1905. 1 he Committee of Visitors of the Cheshire County Lunatic Asylum at Parkside, Macclesfield, beg to present to the County Council their Annual Report for the year ending 31st March, 1905. On the 31st December 1903, there were in the Asylum, 817 patients; during the year ending 31st December last, there have been 193 admissions, viz 179 Cheshire Patients, and 14 Private Patients ; there have been during the same period 85 deaths and 81 discharges, of whom 54 were discharged recovered. ^ here were, therefore, on the 31st December last, remaining on the Rooks of the Asylum, 844 patients, viz. :—402 males and 442 females ; of these 806 are Pauper Patients, and 38 are Patients of the Private Class. It will be seen from the above figures that there were 27 more patients in the Asylum on the 31st December last, than on the 31st December 1903. Of these 27, 24 were males and the remaining 3 females. The number for whom accommodation is provided, is 806, viz. :—378 males and 428 females, so that the numbers uetnully in the Asyhn on the 31st December last, exceeded the accommodatioi Numbers Asylum.
