Biographical note
Mrs. Marie Goubran, ICM Executive Secretary December 1986 - December 1990, died on 14 December 1990. At a Board of Management meeting on 28 February 1991, a decision was made to establish a permanent memorial fund, the Marie Goubran Memorial Fund. The award, to support midwives in LDCs in improving practice and training in their region or country, was to be given every three years and announced at the Triennial Council Meeting.
