January-February, 1945. Correspondence concerning a vegetable oil concentrate rich in sterols, produced by Thomas Hedley & Co Ltd, Newscastle-on-Tyne.

20 March, 1945. Letter-circular from Chief Press Censor concerning maintaining secrecy about a new vaccine for Scrub Typhus ("It is important that the Japanese should not be given any indication of the progress we have made...").

Complete copy of China Newsweek ("Information for the Press Concerning Chinese Affairs and the War in the Far East"), No. 133 (19 April, 1945). Marked article, "Changshan - A New Cure for Malaria" (pp. 9-10). A medicinal herb "has just been scientifically proved to be a specific cure for malaria".

July-August, 1945. Brief correspondence concerning "Monacrin" following a report in The Daily Mirror (Sydney). Typescript of report included. "A remarkable new synthetic drug, even more effective in some uses than the famous penicillin, has been discovered in wartime Sydney University laboratories and is now being packed for export".
