    /! \Q *To the Governors of the Surry Difpenfary, There are Inftances where we recommend reluctantly* tJpon the prefent Occafion, of electing a Phyfician to the Surry Dif- penfary, I do moft cordially recommend Dr. Hawes, not merely becaufe he ftudied Medicine in the Schools for a Series of Years, but, likewife, becaufe he has praCtifed it for upwards of twenty Years in the beft Practical School in Europe* the City of London, where his Humanity as a Man* and his Skill as a Phyfician* procured him the Degree of Dottor of Pbyfc.—-The belt Titles certainly to engage your Support; for in a Difpenfary, where Multitudes of Poor* but deferving Objects, claim your tender Sympathy, a Phyfician of known Humanity and tried Medical Skill, feems peculiarly adapted for your Choice. It is upon thefe Confiderations, and his great Ser¬ vices to the Public in eftabliffiing, in the moft zealous Manner, that ^Kccrellent Inftitution the Humane Society, that I recommend Dr. Hawes on the prefent Occafion, knowing him qualified for the important Office of your Phyfician, and likely to render elfential Services to your invaluable Charity.
