28 October, 1919. Berkhamsted, Charles Timson to [A R] Chamberlayne, headed "Company Formation - Contract and Memorandum of Association" [2 sheets].

27 October, 1919. Carlton Gardens, London, R A Cooper to A R Chamberlayne [2 sheets].

30 October, 1919. Berkhamsted, Charles Timson to A R Chamberlayne, headed "Company Formation" [1 sheet]. "I had a talk with the Chief the day before yesterday, and also with Mr Squiers, who was instructed by the Chief to prepare figures representing the values of assets in the different countries.... Sir Richard again urges that the completion of the English Company be pressed forward to completion. When you are ready with the final contract and Articles of Association, I suggest that you should so inform him, and ask for the final meeting at Carlton Gardens, which should take place next week...."

31 October, 1919. Copy letter, J Squiers to Sir R A Cooper, headed "Proposed New Companies" [5 sheets]. "In accordance with your instructions I now hand you the result of the dissection of the Balance Sheet figures of William Cooper & Nephews, as at 31 December 1918 exclusive of Chicago and New Haven."

6 November, 1919. Birmingham, J Squiers to A R Chamberlayne, headed "William Cooper & Nephews' Company" [3 sheets]. Commenting on Memorandum of Association ("nothing to remark"), Agreement for sale and purchase of the businesses, and Draft Articles of Association.

6 November, 1919. Carlton Gardens, London, R A Cooper to A R Chamberlayne [1 sheet], advising that a meeting will be held "at my house" on 20 November. "Those invited to attend this meeting are myself, Mr Squiers, General Foot, Mr Charles Timson, Lady Cooper and you yourself."

7 November, 1919. Berkhamsted, Charles Timson to A R Chamberlayne, headed "New Companies - Value of Assets" [1 sheet], advising that the figures prepared by Mr Squiers "were not in sufficient detail" and a supplementary "analytical statement has been made" (not included).

18 November, 1919. Brief copy letter [1 sheet], R A Cooper to A R Chamberlayne, "looking forward to your presence on Thursday morning at this house at 10.30, to discuss the formation of the business into a Company."

18 November, 1919. Berkhamsted, Charles Timson to A R Chamberlayne, enclosing "notes I have prepared for discussion at the meeting on Thursday". Notes attached. [1 sheet + 6 sheets]

8 December, 1919. Carlton Gardens, London, R A Cooper to A R Chamberlayne, headed "Sundry Annuities" [1 sheet], concerning family financial provision.

11 March, 1920. Berkhamsted, Charles Timson to A R Chamberlayne, headed "Foreign Companies" [1 sheet], advising that "Mr Squiers, who was here yesterday, tells me he will have the final figures for 1919 ready next week...."
