Biographical note

This formed part of the 12 volume Chemie in Einzeldarstellungen, edited by Julius Schmidt. Stuttgart, 1916. The author was associated with Ehrlich at the G. Speyer-Haus at Frankfort-on-Main from 1906 to 1914, and worked with him as chemist in researches on the constitution of atoxyl, which culminated in the discovery of Salvarsan (606).
