Project Summary:This project aims to bring together the people of Manchester to celebrate the histories of Manchester, through:
• exciting local history projects, linking schools with communities, societies, cultural institutions and universities
• a one-day spectacular at Manchester Town Hall, with original thematic displays and top-class lectures, archive films, tours and family events featuring the local histories of (nationally important) health, medicine and science.
• the first Manchester Histories Festival, held on Saturday 21 March 2009 (with a special day for schools and colleges on Friday 20 March).
