Your children's eyes

Description

Two public information films made in 1945. 1. Your Children's Ears, 14 min. This film explains the structure of the ear by means of diagrams and shows the damage to hearing that may be caused by abscesses, insertion of small objects such as peas, internal inflammation due to colds, discharge from the ear, and adenoids. Methods of treatment by parents and doctors are shown. 2. Your Children's Eyes, 19 min. The structure of the eyes is explained by means of models and diagrams. The film also shows why and how common defects, diseases and injuries should be treated: long- and short- sightedness, astigmatism and squint; blepharitis, conjunctivitis and styes; grit and dirt. It is important that the eyes are not strained in reading or by close needlework, and above all that the children are kept happy and in good general health.
