Biographical note

In 1999 the Wellcome Trust Executive Board approved recommendations to develop an information management strategy for the Trust. The Wellcome Trust Information Management Strategy Group (IMSG) was set up to oversee the development and delivery of the information management strategy, which came into effect from 2000. The IMSG was chaired by Linda Arter and four specialist programme boards were created to report in to the IMSG and support the delivery of the IMS. The Business Processes Development Board was responsible for changes to any business systems and processes; the Infrastructure (IT) Development Board advised on activities relating to the Trust's computer and network infrastructure; the Library Development Board was responsble for any projects falling solely within the domain of the Library; and the Web Developments Board was responsible for all Trust activities relating to electronic communications and publishing. In 2006 an information management policy and set of principles were introduced to replace the IMS. See WT/B/5/2 for related records.
