About this work

Description

Material relating to a public demonstration Paton performed as part of a series of demonstrations (see list in file) organized as part of the Physiological Society's Centenary Meeting. "What we had in mind was that you might like to give a short talk concerning the early developments that led to the 1876 Act in addition to demonstrating the Claude Bernard experiment and that this might be repeated several times during the demonstration period which will run from 12-4 on Saturday, 3 July" (Noble to Paton, 23 February, 1976). "My chief concern now is to see if I can, in a demonstration, obtain as cogent results with curare as Bernard himself did!" (Paton to Cournand, 17 May, 1976). The file includes correspondence and background material (photocopies), and Noble, "The early minute books of the Physiological Society" (ts).
